Welcoming the newest member of our lineup… our secret menu darling, the one & only London Fog.

This has long been a team favorite, and we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to bring our very own version of it to you. Read on to learn a little more about how London Fog came to be, and why we think it’s worth a sip.

SHH, IT’S A SECRET

Like In-N-Out’s ‘Animal Style’ or McDonalds’ ‘Mc 10:35,’  secret menu items are like an underground language for foodies across the nation. Some secret menu items have a cult following…and London Fog is one of them. What we now call a “London Fog” was originally developed by baristas in Vancouver, but quickly spread across the world as an off-menu favorite that in-the-know baristas could make you…if you knew how to ask for it.

WHAT’S IN A LONDON FOG

A London Fog is essentially a latte made with Earl Gray tea (black tea infused with bergamot oil) instead of espresso. Bergamot is added mostly for flavor, but research also shows that it can be useful in reducing inflammation and preventing cardiovascular disease.

With a base of black tea, London Fog is a great coffee alternative. Similar to matcha, black tea contains L-theanine, which helps to balance out the caffeine and provide  more stable and focused energy. Black tea also improves heart health, with theaflavins to help reduce cholesterol and flavonoids (also found in dark chocolate and red wine!) to reduce the risk of heart disease (UCLA Health, 2022). Lastly, the black tea in our London Fog SuperLatte only has about 35 mg of caffeine, so it’s an opportunity to microdose your caffeine rather than consuming a lot at once, like you might with a traditional espresso-based latte (which can have up to 150 mg's of caffeine in a 16oz cup!).

We meticulously crafted our own proprietary instant earl gray tea for this brand new blend – featuring high-altitude Assam black tea and real Italian bergamot oil, married with organic Indonesian vanilla. We tested countless iterations for the perfect mix of sweet aromatics, delicate floral mids, and lightly tannic finish, and (not to be dramatic) but we think we nailed it. Tea in ten seconds, that tastes like your butler brewed it.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A SIP

London Fog has a distinctly delicate yet decadent flavor, unlike any of our other blends. The bright, citrusy notes of *real bergamot oil* balance out the bold, full-bodied flavors of black tea. It also has a dash of freshly ground Madagascar vanilla, to add a sweet smooth finish. It’s insanely sippable, delightfully unique, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on some.
